The Batman Family returns to Gotham City to find Japan vanished and the mysterious island of Hinomoto hovering above. Yakuza descend upon Gotham, and the Justice League is missing. Batman investigates Hinomoto, discovering a brutal world where the Yakuza League—eerily resembling the Justice League—seeks to invade Gotham.
