A deep-sea submersible is disabled on the ocean floor after being attacked by a massive, prehistoric shark—long believed extinct. Expert rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham), whose credibility is under fire following a past encounter with the creature, is called upon to lead the dangerous mission.
