Luo Lingyu travels with her sister to Jianye seeking refuge with the Lu family. On the way, she saves a destitute man but later forces him to jump overboard due to societal norms. Unbeknownst to her, this man is Lu Yun, the third son of the Lu family. Their initial meeting leads to misunderstandings and animosity.
