Vivian Kent, a journalist, is determined to cover the arrest of Anna Delvey, a con artist posing as a wealthy heiress. Despite pushback from her editors, she manages to secure an interview with Anna at Rikers Island, where Anna manipulates Vivian's perceptions while claiming innocence and discussing her aspirations.
