Mick and Beth delve into the abduction of a young boy named Jacob. Upon discovering that Jacob is the grandson of his World War II friend, with whom he had an affair, Mick realizes he might be the boy's grandfather. The kidnapper, Ken Verdolino, stalks Beth and attempts an assault. Mick confronts Verdolino at his home, rescuing Jacob, but Verdolino tragically takes his own life during the encounter. Meanwhile, Talbot offers Beth a position as a civilian investigator after her departure from Buzzwire.
