Episode 1 introduces Lee Dong-jin, a diligent data miner haunted by a past connection to Park Mi-jeong. We see glimpses of their high school days, hinting at a budding affection that was cut short by tragic events.

Years later, Dong-jin stumbles upon Mi-jeong's file during an investigation and is drawn back into her orbit. Mi-jeong, now living a secluded life and branded "The Witch" by terrified locals, is shown struggling with the guilt and fear that surround her. Strange occurrences plague her existence, reinforcing the deadly rumors.
